Daesung Group has built research institutes affiliated to Daesung Celtic and Daesung Measuring in the gas tools and appliances field; and by Daesung Industrial Gas, Cambridge Filter Korea , and Daesung C&S in the basic materials field. These research institutes exchange relevant technology and information with each other in order to develop up-to-date technology. The institutes have devoted themselves to research that suits each business line and has achieved outstanding results from their specialization in the world-best products.
Daesung Research and Development Division was set up in order to localize automatic recognition technology and automation technology. The automatic recognition team has succeeded in independently developing and commercializing bar code interpreting algorithms using image processing; and the automation technology team has localized automation tools and appliances for domestic postal serve projects, independently acquired machine and control technology, and has commercialized technology with worldwide competitiveness. Moreover, vision technology (OCR/BCR) for automatic recognition is connected with machine and control technology for automation, bringing a synergy effect to high value-added modern technology.
From early days, Daesung has invested in the information technology of the group and the computerization of each business field and constructed groupware, which combines 17 business places and serves as a venue for all the workers to communicate and exchange their thoughts and information with each other. Furthermore, a cyber training center has been constructed to provide on-line foreign language education and other professional training. In order to actively deal with changes and challenges in the environment, the company has developed and put in place a number of systems, such as KMS (knowledge and management system), EIS ( executive information system ), ERP ( enterprise resource planning ), internal accounting system, and e-HR (human resources).
