Daesung Measuring Co., Ltd. not only produces gas meters but also supplies various tools and appliances to measure fluids and pressure controllers for city gas firms and gas facility firms across the country.
In 1987, Daesung Measuring Co., Ltd. was established as a joint firm with France-based Schlemm Verger, which is an advanced professional enterprise in the precision measuring and gauging sector. Since 1989 when the company began to produce gas meters, it has completely localized Korean-type DSG 2, 3, or 5-degree models for home meters and successfully developed all models through continuous improvement of quality and development of technology, leading the domestic measuring sector. The company has succeeded in consistently conducting overseas marketing activities and exporting its products to various parts of the world. As a result, it won the three-million-dollar export tower and the Prime Minister Prize in 2002 and the five-million-dollar export tower and the Presidential Prize and the Commerce, Industry and Energy Minister Prize on the 40 th International Trade Day in 2003.
In order to be reborn as an international enterprise, the company is equipped with infra facilities as a professional producer of gas meters, pressure controllers, integrating calorimeters, etc. It acquired KS, IS9001, domestic form certification, and international form approval (NMI) as well as certification (ISO/IEC 17025) of a national organization to correct industrial meters on behalf of the government. Its world-class quality and technology have been certified to supply the domestic market and overseas market with its products. In particular, it has developed for the first time in Korea the equipment to inspect sonic nozzle gas meters; moreover, it has completely computerized and automated all the processes of inspection including leakage inspection and idling inspection; improved the accuracy of the meters; and provided a differentiated system to city gas firms and laboratories. Consequently, it improved its productivity, substituted imports from overseas and made gas meters one of its main export items.
